The Itinerants: band in NYC

Accordion Jokes: {:|||:}

I went to an event in Paddy Reilly's Pub in NYC recently. It was the launch of a book by the founder member of the Mighty Avons an Irish show-band originally from Cavan. The name of the book is called 'Ned the Bed' about a musician and how he got his nickname.

After the event I stuck around for the next show/act and met Pat the lead singer and tall dude from 'The Itinerants' He had a cool voice and delivery and played the accordion. The drummer was reputed to have played with Paul McCartney- Wings variety and the acoustic /lead guitarist was great and I recognized him but not his name... anyway the banjo player was slagged at one point by the drummer -

The definition of a gentleman is one who can play the banjo but does n't - this joke I also heard with accordion substituted for banjo --

The lead singer had good enunciation and they had a good set of Irish/Celtic flavored tunes. I met some die hard fans that go to all of their gigs- I enjoyed the gig and I'd like to see them again sometime. They were really crammed onto the stage like sardines or as if they were all standing up or trying to stand in the back of a van pushed up and crammed against each other.

So brings me to the next - drum roll please -

A woman drives downtown to the library. She parks out front and goes inside. A few minutes later as she stands in the book check-out line she remembers — she left her accordion in full view in the back seat! Dropping the books, she runs from the library and out to the street...
But it's too late. The back window has been totally smashed out and where her accordion sat only minutes ago, now sits two accordions!

Oh-ow, how we laughed!
